2024 Live Music
2024 Music
The Ramona music scene has gone wild! Talented musicians can be found playing somewhere in Ramona just about any day of the week. A festival that celebrates Ramona would not be complete without music, which is why in 2024, we changed our name from the Ramona Art and Wine Festival to the Ramona, Art, Wine & Music Festival.
We have partnered with Ramona Music Alliance (RMA) founders Jon Hasz and Ashley E. Norton to bring you an exciting line-up of a dozen local performances to the festival this year. You will hear music all day across four stages. Sip, shop and eat while you enjoy the talented musicians below.
Ash & The Mondays
Ash & The Mondays: Ramona’s newest rock band from seasoned players Ashley E. Norton, Steve Tally, Travis MacKenzie and Mike Avila, formed out of Dealer’s Choice Music Nights at Reds, Whites & Brews. After realizing the chemistry between them, they began entertaining audiences with high energy covers of favorite hits and now many original songs from Ashley E. Norton. Often known for jumping into the audience and running around with their wireless setup, this group is one to watch!
Astra Kelly
Presently based in San Diego, CA, artist, songwriter, and Chicago native, Astra Kelly, is a pure talent with a lyric-based, melodic sound and soaring vocals. Eclectic in style and genre, her music draws from her soulful Chicago roots fused with indie folk and Americana. Her performances are passionate, full of energy, and a powerful expression of her art and sound. Her songs often mirror the beautiful grit of being alive and open the way for a thought provoking and emotive musical experience. She’s a career artist who has toured the country extensively, and has released ten records on her own label.
Dana Duplan
Dana Duplan is a singer-songwriter-guitarist currently residing in the rural town of Ramona, California. With a father from New Orleans and a mother from Texas/New Mexico, there was always a variety of good tunes in the house, and his interest in music developed at a very young age. After spending a couple of years thumping on a homemade cigar box guitar with fishing line for strings, his parents surprised him with his first real guitar on his tenth birthday. Dana’s dedication to developing and improving his skills as a musician started immediately and his passion burns to this day. Dana has primarily focused on American roots-based music since he began performing over fifty years ago…an eclectic mix of Country, Western, Folk, Blues, Swing, Old-Timey, and humorous Novelty songs, some even dating back to the beginning of recorded music!
Dirty Confetti
Ramona-based five-piece band, Dirty Confetti has been providing musical entertainment for live audiences throughout Southern California, and as far afield as Las Vegas, since 2019. They were recognized the same year as Best New Country Band/Adult by the West Coast Country Music Association. The band performs a blend of country’s classic and contemporary hits, along with original compositions by lead guitarist, Travis Billy Ross, affectionately known as “Velvis” among his bandmates for his signature delivery of their velvety lead vocals. Favorite artists covered include Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams (Senior, Junior and III), Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, George Strait, Cody Jinks, David Alan Coe, Jamey Johnson, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, The Judds, and many others.
Frank Lucio & Rob Lewallen
Saxophonist Frank Lucio has entertained audiences for over 40 years as both a section musician and soloist. Rob Lewallen, has traveled California performing with his classic rock band Retrospect, his bluegrass group the Shirthouse Band, as well as solo engagements. Together Frank and Rob bring over 90 years of music experience to the stage performing Contemporary Jazz, Southern Soul, Latin Jazz, Motown, Rhythm & Blues, Classic Rock, Country, Bluegrass and Oldies.
Michael Dean Goodrich
At a very young age Mike quickly found a love for playing guitar and singing. Michael says “Many different styles have influenced me over the years. From Country, Metal, Rock, Bluegrass, to Punk, I’ve played it all and still listen to a lot of it to date. I have always been fond of the old Country music icons like Randy Travis, Conway Twitty, Don Williams, and Johnny Cash. With a resonating tone in my voice that is reminiscent of those giants in music, I carry on that deep Baritone bellowing country vocal sound within the music I play and write.”
The Beard and the Bird
The Beard & The Bird: Performed in their jaunty signature blend of rockabilly and western swing, The Beard and The Bird serve up a lilting melody, insightful lyrics, and a playful, upbeat tempo with an old timey flair. Jon plays guitar and lapsteel and Cat slaps her standup bass. They both take turns singing. All their songs are flavored with a range of influences from Django Reinhardt and gypsy jazz, to the modern sounds of Pokey LaFarge.
Thea the Band
Thea The Band is Ramona based singer-songwriter Thea Tochihara. The original sound is self-coined “Cosmic American,” being a blend of lyric driven folk, emotive blues, and tap your toes rock. Whether playing a solo intimate setting sharing more personal stories about where the songs came from and what inspired them, or riding the musical waves when playing full band, the unadulterated desire to connect in a most intimate way is a constant. The belief that we want to be loved means we must also allow people to see who we truly are. After all, isn’t that what we’re here for?
